Sycamore Falls is located in the Fiery Gizzard region of South Cumberland State Park. The trailhead is located just past Tracy City Elementary School on Fiery Gizzard Road. There is a large parking lot with restrooms at the trailhead. Start your hike at the south end of the parking lot. This area of trail is known as the Grundy Day Loop trail.

The Fiery Gizzard Trail begins to the left of the parking area, next to a kiosk with maps and sign-in sheets. The trail immediately drops sharply to the level of Little Fiery Gizzard Creek, changing from a plateau-top environment to a world of boulders, swift-flowing water, hemlock trees and a diversity of other plant life, and fresh-smelling air.
This trail is located in Grundy Forest State Natural Area at South Cumberland State Park. The Fiery Gizzard trail starts out rocky and a bit steep descending into the canyon. It is very rocky here and wet in places making it somewhat slippery. It follows the river for the first mile or so passing many beautiful cascades and waterfalls.Be careful on the trail.
